34th Annual Kenmare GooseFest

7 Day Hunting Festival

GooseFest has something for Everyone!!

Kenmare, the "Snow Goose Capital of North Dakota" is the hunting haven of the north with snow goose counts being over 250,000 birds at times. Canada honkers are prevalent with some 12 to 14 pounders being bagged.

Saturday, October 22
Noon - Registration for Chili Cook-Off at Kenmare Country Club
5 pm - Chili judging and chili feed at the Kenmare Country Club golf course. All you can eat chili, $2.

Sunday, October 23
Bird weigh-ins start today.
Lakeview Art Club Wildlife Art Show & Sale at M&K’s Pizza Hub, all week.
Sun-up to 1 pm - 2-Person Fun Shoot. $20/Team.
Sign up by 5 pm, Oct. 22 at City Limits Bar or Kenmare’s Jack & Jill.
    Must pre-register. Prizes Awarded. Lunch. Open to All Ages.
    Gun Drawing- 16 & under, sponsored by Renville Elevator Co.
    Gun Drawing- For all other participants, sponsored by
    City Limits Bar. Weigh-ins at 1 pm at Kenmare’s Jack & Jill.
12 pm - Texas Hold’Em Poker Tournament at City Limits Bar, sponsored by Kenmare Veterans Club # G-270. $150 Buy In.
3 pm - BB Gun Shoot (1st grade thru age 13),
    Kenmare  Memorial Hall.  Sponsored by RTC.

Monday, October 24
8 pm - Goose’d Up Bingo at Wes’ Bar.

Tuesday, October 25
7 pm - Ladies’ Night Out at the Memorial Hall.
8 pm - Free Feed at City Limits Bar.

Wednesday, October 26
6 pm - Landowners Appreciation Banquet at the Memorial Hall.
    North Dakota Goose Hunters Hall of Fame induction.                    

Thursday, October 27
Noon to Dark - Clay Shoot at Kenmare Country Club. $10 fee includes box of shells. (Ages 14 and up.) Shooters younger than 14 welcome if accompanied by an adult. Sponsored by Berthold Sportsmans Club.
4 pm - Free Matinee Movie, at Kenmare Theatre,
    sponsored by Quilt Inn.
6 pm - Free Pork Feed at City Limits Bar.
6 pm - Fish Fry at Beer Bob’s
8 pm - Frozen Duck Bowling at City Limits Bar.

Friday, October 28
Noon - Regirstration for Chili Cook-Off at Kenmare Country Club. Chili Feed starts at 5 pm.
4 pm - Free Matinee Movie, at Kenmare Theatre, "The Bad Guys"
    sponsored by Quilt Inn.
6 pm - Brag Night and Sausage Feed at Memorial Hall.
    Bring in any mounts from noon to 2 pm.
    Prizes for Whitetail, Mule, General Game, People’s Choice.
    Social at Memorial Hall, prior to Hunters’ Calcutta.
7:30 pm - Rules Meeting for Goose Shoot Teams
    at Memorial Hall in Council Room.
8 pm - Sportsmen’s Live Auction during Hunter’s Calcutta at Memorial Hall.
    Drawings for GooseFest Pickup and other Raffle Prizes.
9 pm - Live Music at Beer Bob's.

Saturday, October 29
5:30 am - Goose Shoot, sponsored by Great Northern Trucking.
    Contestants eat breakfast at M&K's Pizza Hub, then leave with checkers at 6 am.
1 pm - Goose Shoot Weigh-ins start at Beer Bob’s.
3:30 pm - Awards for Goose Shoot, Beer Bob’s.
9 pm - Live Music at Beer Bob's.
