Ballots set for Kenmare city and school elections on June 12

The ballot is complete now for the Kenmare city elections, although each candidate for city office is running unopposed at this time.

The ballot is complete now for the Kenmare city elections, although each candidate for city office is running unopposed at this time.

Incumbent Troy Hedberg filed for re-election as a city council member.

Paul Standard and Tori Kling filed for two other open seats on the city council. Incumbents Owen Medlang and Ken Barnhart did not file for those positions.

Incumbent Kurt Heninger filed for re-election to the municipal judgeship position.

Park Board members DuWayne Gilseth and Dennis Heidel filed for re-election to their positions.

The city council and municipal judge positions are elected to four-year terms, while Park Board members are elected to two-year terms.

The deadline to file for the ballot was April 13th.

The city election will be held Tuesday, June 12th. Absentee ballots will be available from the Kenmare city auditor Barb Wiedmer. For more information, contact Wiedmer at 701-385-4232.

Kenmare School Board
ballot has a race
Voters will have a choice among candidates for the Kenmare School Board, with four individuals filing for the ballot.

Incumbent Lenny Rodin is seeking re-election as an at-large candidate. He is running unopposed.

Incumbent Mike Zimmer faces a challenge from new candidates Doug Miller and Blaine Huff for two rural at-large positions open on the board. Voters will select two of those three candidates.

School board members are elected to three-year terms.

The deadline to file for the ballot was April 13th.

The school district election will be held Tuesday, June 12th, in conjunction with the city, county and state election.
