Bethany Limke scored 17 points for the Lady Bombers in Friday’s game against Parshall, but Berthold came up short in the contest, losing 72-41.

The Lady Braves controlled the scoreboard at all quarter breaks, 14-6, 28-20 and 51-31.

Madison Erickson added 9 points for Berthold, while Cassidy Limke had 5, Taylor Simons 2, Mychal Fjeldahl 4 and Ally Brown 2.

Parshall had four players in double figures, with Cheyenne Packineau at 19 points, Maisey Gillies at 15, Rayessa Odermann 14 and Alexis Woods 10.

Bombers field a young team
The Berthold squad looks to gain experience through the season, much like last year. With 13 players on the roster and only three upperclassmen, the team’s sophomores and freshmen can expect to see plenty of playing time.

“We are really close to the same team as last year,” said head coach Jennifer Kramer. “We have two starters back and three girls who played a lot of varsity minutes.”

She noted the team has been healthy to begin the season, with the starting five players having time to learn to work together and read each other on the court.

“A couple of the freshmen have really been excelling at the varsity level, as well,” she added. “Hopefully with each game, we continue to increase in confidence.”

The team’s lone senior is guard Alex Gonzalez.

The two juniors running the court are Jessi Johnson and Bethany Limke.

Three sophomores wear the purple and gold, including Emily Roark, Liz Neshem and Madison Erickson.

Seven freshmen have joined the Bombers’ ranks, with Lindsey Vangsness, Taylor Simons, Ally Brown, Emily Ryan, Cassidy Limke, Kylee Carico and Mychal Fjeldahl.

Students Emilee Gregory, Nicole Johnson and Miles Knudsvig are handling stats for the team.

Kramer is assisted by coach Stephanie Pusc.
