City issues 14 building permits this month for work topping $5.5 million

L&C takes 3rd at State B baseball

In their first appearance in the Class B state baseball tournament since 1980, the Lewis & Clark Wildcats picked up a third place trophy and served notice their young team is a force on the field.

K-B-MLS girls earn 7th in State's first Class B softball tourney

The Kenmare-Bowbells-MLS team ran into a buzzsaw at the Class B fastpitch softball tournament last weekend, but the squad finished in seventh place and earned a place in sports history by playing in the first state Class B tournament for the game.

L&C boys golf team makes fourth consecutive trip to State

The Lewis & Clark boys’ golf team recently capped off the 2012 season with a trip to the ND State Class “B” Boys’ Golf Meet, which was held south of Fargo, at Oxbow Country Club, on May 29 and 30.

Representative Froseth and state's interim Finance and Taxation Committee discuss tax relief and replacing revenues

Residents of North Dakota have paid a property tax since before the state was a state, with the first such tax enacted in 1882 by the Dakota Territory Legislative Assembly. The Territory collected 1.5 mills, with another 2 mills going to counties within the territory and 1 mill designated for roads and bridges.
