Kenmare High School to award 15 diplomas for the Class of 2013

Kenmare High School will celebrate the commencement of its 105th graduating class on Sunday, May 26, 2013, beginning at 2:30 pm in the school gymnasium.

Kenmare High School will celebrate the commencement of its 105th graduating class on Sunday, May 26, 2013, beginning at 2:30 pm in the school gymnasium.

The Class of 2013 will recognize 15 members, led by valedictorian Alexis Munson, daughter of Alan and Karol Munson. Salutatorian for the class is Shelby Hass, daughter of Jay and Theresa Hass. Both students will speak during the graduation program.

Honor students Morgan Goettle and Charles Steinberger will also address the audience.

Other honor students for the class include Dallas Petersen, Mason Ankenbauer, Jace Helmers and Kristen St. Croix.

They will join classmates Taylor Egeberg, Tyler Ellsworth, Zack Helmers, Toby Hess, Kelseye Lockhart, Ramsi Moorhead and Chad Perry in receiving their diplomas.

Junior class marshals assisting with the ceremony will be Katie Nelson, William Bennett, Tayler Mau, Kayla Halvorson and Shelby Kittleson.

The KHS concert band will play the processional and recessional for the graduates, as well as an additional musical selection. The KHS choir will perform a song during the ceremony. The seniors themselves will share a video presentation created of class memories from their elementary and high school days.

Kenmare High School principal Robert Thom will announce awards and scholarships received by the graduates, and introduce the Class of 2013 for commencement. Kenmare School Board school board president Lars Christensen will present diplomas to the seniors.

The KHS Class of 2013 chose purple, black and silver as class colors and the purple orchid as the class flower. They will celebrate the day under the theme, “We came together as strangers, but we leave as eternal friends.”
