Visitors Guide - Parks / Trails

Welcome To Kenmare
The community has much to offer whether
you stop for an hour, a day or longer.

Mouse River Park
A new 10 acre campground has been added to this unique little park. Along with 56 new campsites, there is additional primitive camping throughout the park.

Mouse River Park is located about 5 miles north of Tolley.
Near the center of the park is a tavern featuring weekend dance bands. The park also offers rollerskating, fishing, and volleyball, softball diamonds, a restaurant, and shower facilities. Don't forget to check out the walking bridge that crosses over the Mouse River.

Centennial Park
Originally built to celebrate North Dakota's Centennial, the park features a goose sculpture representinggoose_sculp.jpg (20373 bytes) Kenmare's title as the "Goose Capital of North Dakota."  It is easily visible from Highway 52. With its proximity to the high school and the sports field, the sculpture is also a nice complement to the school's "Honker" mascot.

Hiking Trail
Located about five miles south of town just off the Scenic Lake Road, this mile-long nature trail was opened in 1996. Part of the trail is considered handicap accessible with an observation area that includes a bench. The rest of the trail winds up and around a hill known in the area as Munch's coulee.

Canada Goose Trail
The road located along the northeastern section of the Des Lacs Lake at Kenmare is open only in the fall to motorized vehicles. However, foot traffic is always welcome.
