Kenmare Community
Information
Kenmare was organized as a
city in 1897. With today's population of 1200, Kenmare offers affordable homes,
great schools, a hospital, medical clinic, friendly people, clean air, and a
success-inspiring atmosphere for all ages.
Located on the Central North American Trade Corridor, US Highway 52, Kenmare
sits 40 miles from the major customs port of Portal and just 50 miles from
an international airport in Minot.
Involvement boosts Kenmare's community dynamic. With a local Lions Club, a rural
Young
Professionals Network, the Association of Commerce,
City Council, and the Kenmare
Community Development Corporation, there are
numerous ways to become an involved member
of the community. For more
information on any of these organizations, contact the KCDC.

Kenmare invites you to enjoy their
attractive city by the lake. The Historic Danish Mill, built in 1902, is the centerpiece of
Kenmare's unique
town square park in the heart of the business district. Refresh and enjoy yourself in this peaceful green space
after shopping and dining in the many intriguing stores, including
an old-time soda fountain.
For travel by private aircraft,
the Kenmare Municipal Airport, just southeast of
the city, features a 3,800 foot paved and lighted runway.
Kenmare is a full-service
community with many businesses to serve you and
the trade community. Over the last decade, Kenmare has shown continuous growth
in taxable
sales, new homes and business expansions.
