Both the Kenmare elementary and high school buildings will be under construction this summer, following three hours of discussion and votes taken during a special meeting of the Kenmare School Board held March 23rd. Two school staff members and four local residents, including three parents, also attended the meeting.

On their way to the 2010 North Dakota Class B boys basketball championship game, the Bombers knocked off the second-ranked Grovers and prevented Mr. Basketball candidate Adam Randall from seeing action in the finals.

When the Lewis & Clark-Berthold team took the floor of the Minot Auditorium to warm up for the opening game of the Region 6 tournament on March 8th, the sight of their dark purple jerseys decorated with “4 Hope” and a basketball in white brought extra cheers from most Bombers fans.

Bishop Ryan fans started the Region 6 championship game with a roar Thursday night, but the Berthold Bombers tamed their Lion opponents and crowd with a focused performance on the court. Six minutes into the first quarter, the Bombers left no doubt who controlled the game’s tempo and action, and by the final buzzer the defending Region 6 champs still reigned, topping Bishop Ryan 50-30.

Volunteer members of the Kenmare Fire Department closed up shop in their old quarters at the Memorial Hall on the morning of February 13th and moved everything to the new fire hall before lunch.
